Expertise and experience

Przedsiębiorstwo Badawczo-Wdrożeniowe ACRYLMED dr Ludwika Własińska Sp. z o.o. has been operating since 1991. The Company based its own operating model from the very beginning on the vast expertise and experience of its founder, dr Ludwika Własińska.
Dr Ludwika Własińska devoted her long-standing professional carrier to specialising in acrylate polymers – she turned her attention to that subject as early as her studies and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and has pursued it professionally since then.

In 1979-1989, dr Ludwika Własińska worked on acrylate polymers used in medicine (palatal prostheses, bone cement, soft prostheses, composite, polymers for production of false teeth). In 1980-1989, she was the Poland’s Commissioner for Polystyrene Plastics, appointed by the Minister of Chemical Industry. In 1986, she received a scholarship from the UNESCO Atomic Energy Commission in Milan for her work on methacrylic materials. She also sat on the Scientific Council of OBRKiT in Oświęcim (Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Kauczuków i Tworzyw Winylowych – R&D Centre for Rubber and Vinyl Plastics).

Developments in the field of polymers used in medicine were awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Chemical and Light Industry for “The Best Research and Development Achievement in the Chemical Industry in 1988” and received the reward of the Polish Dental Society. In 1987, dr Ludwika Własińska was awarded the “Golden Badge for Services Rendered to the Chemical Industry” by the Minister of Chemical Industry.

Her knowledge and experience, gained during the long-standing scientific career, became the bedrock for the research and implementation works continued in Acrylmed. Thanks to that, the energy and work of the entire team may be directed to effective delivery of subsequent projects and the Company is a reliable partner for even the most specialised and demanding customers.

Innovation and development

The foundation of our operation lies in the maximum use of the research experience gained during over 20 years of the research work preceding the formation of the Company. Every subsequent year of the Company operation (which has been on the market for 23 years) brings new products and solutions with high know-how content and applications both in the high-tech industry and everyday life. Every year, we develop in our own laboratories ca. 15-20 new products. Our research is characterised by a very high implementation rate, i.e. ca. 90%.
The strength of Acrylmed, apart from the long-standing scientific experience of dr Ludwika Własińska, is built also by an excellent team – the Company has a high number of employees with higher education. A highly-skilled personnel and own research laboratories (microbiological and technological) allow us to offer our Customers not only innovative products but also an important added value in the form of technical and technological assistance.

  • household detergents.

Irrespective of the products implemented as part of its own sales structure, Acrylmed also cooperates with third-party entities as a research unit developing technologies and product lines introduced then by those entities on the market.

Quality and safety

When developing products for specific branches, we take care that the presented offer is as comprehensive as possible and the quality of our products rivals the best on the market. We know that low price of specialist products generates high costs if it is not followed by quality and efficient use. Therefore, we focus on quality at every stage of the development, production and application of our products – from development of formulas, through careful selection of suppliers of raw materials and packaging, procedures observed in the production, to professional technical assistance.

Our products are made in compliance with the quality management system ISO 9001:2008.
The long-standing policy regarding Acrylmed’s development can be expressed in one sentence: “To manufacture products of good quality and high know-how content, as well as to be environment-friendly and people-friendly.” This is why we have been systematically eliminating hazardous and caustic items from our offer and replacing them with highly-specialised, eco-friendly products.

The quality of our products has been confirmed with numerous awards and certificates.

Understanding Customer’s needs

Each of our product lines is tailored to the needs of a specific group of customers.
The research on developing a new product is commenced due to the market demand or as an improvement of an already existing product. Either way, it is always preceded by a thorough analysis covering a Customer’s expectations concerning quality, price and technical assistance, offer of a given product type available on the market and legal requirements to launch a given product (registration, certificate etc.).

We value each of our Customers, therefore we focus not only on the needs of the entire group of off-takers but also perceive the expectations of every Customer and adjust our efforts accordingly – e.g. by conducting additional research, modifying the packaging or acquiring another certificate.

Our cooperation with the Customer does not end with supplying the products – all our Customers may count on technical assistance and professional aid in troubleshooting.

Social responsibility

From the very beginning, the operation of Acrylmed went far beyond purely business objectives. Thanks to that, we are working in an exceptional place and wonderful atmosphere. Sensitivity to social issues, openness to the world, respect for people and natural environment – all that made us a highly regarded employer. We have been participating in events for the local community and supporting charity organisations.

The sense of security, respect, appreciation of efforts, support given to the employees and good energy we feel everyday allow our Company to be repeatedly awarded the title of the Employer of the Year.

Strong ties with the local community brought a special award in the Śremskie Żyrafy competition (the Giraffes of Śrem – the award granted to projects which have made an outstanding success).

For helping those who need it most, we were awarded the title of an honorary member of St. Brother Albert’s Aid Society “Hope” (Towarzystwo Pomocy Potrzebującym im. św. Brata Alberta “Nadzieja”) in Śrem.

For years Acrylmed has been supporting Dr Lucy Foundation, established by dr Ludwika Własińska to help homeless animals. This is the reason why our customers receive joyful calendars with collie sheepdogs every year and why a line of exclusive care products for pets was developed.

To support young talents, dr Ludwika Własińska published a beautiful album of Aurelia and Andrey Karnuta and decided that the entire sales profit would be divided between the artists and the Foundation.
Przedsiębiorstwo Badawczo-Wdrożeniowe ACRYLMED dr Ludwika Własińska Sp. z. o. o. was established by dr Ludwika Własińska on 1 March 1991 in gmina Dolsk. The operation was continued and registered on 1 July 1991 in gmina Śrem. The name of the Company derives from “acrylate polymers for medicine” – dr Ludwika Własińska worked on that very technology when she was employed as a researcher in OBRKiTW in Oświęcim (R&D Centre for Rubbers and Vinyls). The research nature of Acrylmed stems from the 20 years of the research work in that Centre.
Dr Ludwika Własińska graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. She also received her doctorate there. During her entire professional career, she specialised in acrylate polymers. In 1979-1989, she worked on acrylate polymers used in medicine (palatal prostheses, bone cement, soft prostheses, composite, polymers for production of false teeth). In 1980, dr Ludwika Własińska was appointed the Poland’s Commissioner for Polystyrene Plastics by the Minister of Chemical Industry and she held that function by 1989. In 1986, she received a scholarship from the UNESCO Atomic Energy Commission in Milan for her work on methacrylic materials. She also sat on the Scientific Council of OBRKiT in Oświęcim.
Among her scientific achievements, one must list 62 technologies and technological developments, scholarly publications, patents and speeches at academic conferences. To name just a few, according to her formulas the following are produced: polymers for the production of false teeth (Fabryka Narzędzi Chirurgicznych i Dentystycznych in Milanówek), materials for palatal prostheses (Zakład Stomatologii in Rzeszów), poly(methyl methacrylate) – the so-called ”PLEXI” (Firma Chemiczna „Dwory”).
Our founder has been continuing research and implementation works in her Company. Every year, the Company operation results in the implementation of new products, all of them developed in our own research laboratories. Ca. 90% of the new developments have been implemented for production and is included in the offer.
New products are being constantly developed as part of the Company’s R&D policy. Specific years are earmarked for the development of specific product groups.
We devoted specific years to develop and implement the following product lines:

  • domestic detergents (cleaning liquids, shampoos, bath products etc.), which represented 40% of the sales in the beginning,
  • wood adhesives,
  • products for cleaning and disinfecting of installations,
  • specialist products for sugar factories,
  • products for cleaning and disinfecting of swimming pools,
  • products for treatment of swimming pool water,
  • paper glues,
  • veterinary products.

It took us ca. 2 years to develop and implement a particular group of products. When developing products for specific branches, we did our best to make the presented offer as comprehensive as possible and the quality of products rival the best on the market. The Company competes by means of the quality, technical assistance and price. Reasonable price is not the most essential aspect, as it should give priority to quality, professional assistance, and comprehensiveness of the offer.
Our long-standing policy regarding the Company’s development can be expressed in one sentence: “To manufacture products of good quality and high know-how content, as well as to be environment-friendly and people-friendly.” Our adherence to that policy may be confirmed by the fact that from the beginning of the operation we have reduced domestic detergents from ca. 40% of the sales to only 2.4%, and replaced caustic and hazardous products with a number of highly specialised ones, including many eco-friendly cleaning agents.
ACRYLMED is one of the few companies in Wielkopolska which combine 2 functions, namely of a research entity, developing new products and technologies, and an enterprise marketing the developed products.
Irrespective of the developments implemented as part of our own sales structure, we also cooperate with third-party entities as a research unit developing technologies and product lines introduced then by those entities on the market.
